For 2nd time, Oro Valley imposes ‘use’ tax coun

For the second time, the Oro Valley Town Council has adopted a first-ever, 2.5% “use” tax on certain out-of-state purchases made by local businesses.

The June 17 vote was 4-3 to impose the tax, as it was in January. Mayor Joe Winfield was joined by Councilmembers Dr. Harry “Mo” Greene II, Joyce Jones-Ivey, and Elizabeth Robb in support. Vice Mayor Melanie Barrett and Councilmembers Mary Murphy and Josh Nicolson voted against it.
