BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – A Broken Arrow police officer is being recognized after rescuing a child from a pond at Events Park near East 101st Street and Oklahoma State Highway 364.
The Broken Arrow Police Department said Officer Zack Vick responded to a call about a child in a pond at about 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27.
Officer responds to emergency call
According to the department, Officer Vick arrived at the park and quickly realized the child could not swim and was unable to get out of the water.
The department said the situation required immediate action.
