SAND SPRINGS, Okla. – It has been three weeks since a deadly explosion tore through the Morrow-Gill Business Complex in Sand Springs, killing two people.
Brant Blackburn, who owns a screen-printing business at the complex, is now operating out of a new location after spending weeks unsure whether he would be able to retrieve his equipment and continue his business. Blackburn said he had been at the Morrow-Gill complex for less than a year before the explosion.
What happened in the Sand Springs explosion?
The explosion happened around 1 a.m. on August 27 at the business complex near South Lincoln Avenue. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said the explosion was chemical-related and occurred during the THC extraction process at an extraction facility. Michael Newman and Stephen Scott were killed. The OSBI is investigating the explosion with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Blackburn said his first concern was whether anyone was safe and whether his business had survived.
