Police: 3 arrested, including teen, during street takeover events in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Three people were arrested after officers responded to multiple street takeover events on Tuesday night, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The first street takeover event was found in the area of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Northeast Ainsworth Street. Police said people were seen driving recklessly.

Officers stopped one car and arrested the driver, 21-year-old Moises Lucero. Lucero was booked into jail for reckless driving and reckless endangerment. His car was also towed.

Officers responded to a second street takeover event a short time later in the area of Northeast 13th Avenue and Northeast Lloyd Boulevard. One driver, 21-year-old Henock Mekuria, was arrested and booked into jail for reckless driving and reckless endangerment. Police said officers found a firearm inside Mekuria’s car, which was towed.

Less than an hour later, a third street takeover event was found in the 3900 block of Northeast Marine Drive. One car driven by a 17-year-old was stopped. Police said the teen was cited and the car was towed…
