Man, 71, who died in Multnomah County jail identified

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a 71-year-old man who died earlier this week while in jail.

At about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said John C. Hanberry was found unresponsive in his cell. Despite efforts to save his life, Hanberry was pronounced dead by paramedics.
