Criterion Mobile Closet coming to Portland as part of PAM CUT’s Cinema Unbound Week

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — In its seventh year, a Portland storytelling hub is expanding its annual awards program from a single night to five days chock-full of film, music, comedy and more.

Better known as PAM CUT, the Portland Art Museum’s Center for an Untold Tomorrow is gearing up for its inaugural Cinema Unbound Week. The festivities will include the namesake award ceremony the organization is known for, along with new hallmarks like the Criterion Mobile Closet and a talk with Japanese Breakfast singer and The New York Times best-selling author Michelle Zauner.

How rare (and valuable) is an Oregon quarter?

“Cinematic storytelling doesn’t just live on a screen — it’s out in our community and our world, literally everywhere you look,” PAM CUT Director Amy Dotson said in a statement. “As PAM CUT continues to expand and share its unbound, inclusive spirit with local and global audiences and artists alike, it only makes sense that our Cinema Unbound Awards fun and celebration expand beyond the walls of the Portland Art Museum, too. Our honorees, partners and special guest stars are all creative polymaths here to inspire and engage. So, come be a part of the cultural snackery and help us explode the notion of what’s possible in art and storytelling this spring!”

Cinema Unbound Week will span from Wednesday, May 27 through Sunday, May 31. It will kick off with PAM CUT’s Tomorrow Theater hosting a discussion with “Crying in H Mart” writer Zauner that Wednesday, and will be followed up by the Criterion Mobile Closet’s stop at the museum from Friday to Sunday…
