PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man accused of opening fire and shooting a father in the parking lot behind the Islamic School of Portland was found guilty of attempted murder and other charges Tuesday.
The incident happened on Oct. 17, 2024, when 43-year-old Noureddine Dib shot another man in the abdomen in the parking lot of the Southwest Portland school, after an interaction between the two.
The victim ran from Dib, who then chased him onto the school property while continuing to shoot at him. The victim eventually made it to a nearby Shell gas station where a bystander called 911. He was then taken to a trauma center for treatment.
