VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A teenage boy was arrested after running toward 21st Street with a rifle stolen from North Carolina, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
A supervisor conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Cypress Avenue at approximately 1:35 a.m. on July 7. Police said a rear-seat passenger fled on foot carrying a rifle toward the 700 block of 21st Street.
Officers from the Ocean Front Community Oriented Police Squad (OCOP) established a perimeter and the VBPD’s Special Operations K9 unit eventually tracked the suspect. He was taken into custody without incident, and the firearm with an extended 30-round magazine was successfully recovered…
