PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — For weeks, gas prices were dropping as peace talks between the United States and Iran seemed to be heading in the right direction. Now, the ceasefire is paused, airstrikes are being traded, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz is stalled and gas costs are back on the rise.
According to AAA, Hampton Roads drivers are paying around $3.96 a gallon, up about 10 cents from last week and nearly 20 cents from a month ago.
