VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The city of Virginia Beach is preparing to begin the first phase of a flood protection project aimed at reducing flooding in low-lying neighborhoods near Shore Drive.
Construction is scheduled to begin Aug. 3 as part of the city’s Eastern Shore Drive project, an initiative within Virginia Beach’s broader Flood Protection Program. The work is designed to improve drainage and reduce flooding caused by heavy rain and high tides.
