NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Lafayette Park was a sea of purple on Saturday as hundreds of survivors, families, and researchers gathered for PurpleStride Hampton Roads, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness and critical funding for pancreatic cancer research.
Roughly 185 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day in the United States, according to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
“I feel wonderful. I still get some fatigue,” said Kathleen Kirsch, who was diagnosed in 2023. “I’m so proud of myself today. I actually did the whole walk. That’s the first time I’ve been able to do that!”…
