VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A commercial multi-family fire in the 4500 block of Wicklow Place, Laurel Park in Ridgewood Club, on May 16 displaced four individuals and one cat.
At 12:41 p.m., Virginia Beach Fire Department and EMS units were dispatched to the accidental blaze, caused by improperly disposed of smoking material. When units arrived at 12:44 p.m., crews saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the two-story, multi-unit apartments. Firefighters quickly had water on the blaze at 12:46 p.m., marked it under control at 12:49 p.m., and marked it out at 12:51 p.m.
Two units were affected, officials say. No injuries to civilians, firefighters, or pets were reported.
