DC Weather: Heat alerts likely Friday as strong storms could develop later

WASHINGTON (7News) — Another hot and humid day is expected Friday across the D.C. area, with heat index values climbing into the upper 90s and lower 100s before thunderstorms become more likely later in the day.

Friday is a Weather Alert day as the region deals with dangerous heat and the potential for strong-to-severe storms during the afternoon and evening.

High temperatures are expected to reach the 93 to 98-degree range under partly sunny skies.
