Georgetown Cupcake’s window replaced after beer keg thrown into store

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Weeks after a man was accused of throwing a beer keg and shattering the window at the Georgetown Cupcake, repairs are complete.

On the week of June 8, the window of the business was seen back in place.

The investigation leading to the arrest

On the morning of May 18, D.C. police officers responded to the Georgetown business, where a side window had been destroyed.

According to the police report obtained by DC News Now, the glass was shattered across the sidewalk and inside the store, where the keg was on the floor. One Georgetown Cupcake employee told officers that she was working when she heard a loud noise of the glass breaking and rushed to the back for safety. She was not seriously hurt.

While reviewing security cameras in the area, the suspect, Charles Ali of Rockville, Md., was seen carrying the keg down the street. The videos inside and outside the business also captured Ali allegedly walking up to the store and launching the keg through the window.
