WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police are investigating after a shooting in Washington, D.C.’s Anacostia neighborhood left two men hurt early Sunday morning.
Metropolitan Police Department officers found the two men with gunshot wounds after responding to a reported shooting in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
13-year-old boy killed in Northeast DC shooting
Police noted that responders took both men — who were conscious and breathing — to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The shooting comes just hours after two separate deadly shootings in Northeast. Shortly before 8:30 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in the area of Rosedale Street NE. About an hour later, a man was found shot on Minnesota Avenue in Northeast. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
