Knife, Chokehold And Assault Charges Filed: Police Sergeant Among Those Charged In Charles County

WALDORF, Md. — Two Southern Maryland men are facing felony assault charges after Charles County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated an altercation inside a Waldorf home that investigators allege escalated into a confrontation involving a knife and physical violence, according to court documents.

Andrew Leron Green, 28, of Waldorf, was charged in the District Court for Charles County with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault.

Jalen Rasard Cephus, 32, of Hyattsville, was charged with one count of first-degree assault and one count of second-degree assault. According to court documents, Cephus is identified as a Forest Heights police sergeant.
