SPRINGFIELD, Va. (DC News Now) — Fairfax County officers found a gun in the grass after shots were fired in West Springfield, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old.
Just before 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 5, officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Hall St. There, witnesses told police that they had seen a group of men in the community and one of them had fired a gun into the ground several hours before.
The group then dispersed in separate vehicles before the police arrived.

As police canvassed the area, they quickly located the suspected vehicles on Reseca Lane and detained the men. While searching the area, officers found a gun in the grass.
Detectives were called to the scene to continue the investigation and determined that Amen Giorgis, of Lorton, had fired the gun. He was charged with reckless handling of a firearm…
