ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — A Washington, D.C. woman has been arrested in connection with a carjacking incident in Arlington’s Colonial Village neighborhood, the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) announced Wednesday.
Police said Leah Elaine Johnson, 26, of Washington, D.C., was charged by APD with carjacking and charged by the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority Police Department with unauthorized use of a vehicle and no driver’s license.
According to APD, officers responded on Monday, Aug. 31, at 4:56 p.m. to reports of a larceny in the 2100 block of 19th Street N. There, the victim reported that she was walking in the area when Johnson approached her from behind and tried to start a conversation.
