Ground stops issued for flights to DCA, IAD, BWI as thunderstorms roll through DMV

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Federal Aviation Administration issued ground stops for several DMV-area airports Wednesday afternoon as thunderstorms rolled through the area.

According to the FAA’s website, flights headed to Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) were expected to have ground stops until 3:45 p.m., with departures from the airport experiencing delays.

Across state lines at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), ground stops were expected to last until 4:15 p.m. At Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), departures to the airport were grounded until 4 p.m…
