WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Two firefighters were taken to the hospital, including one who fell through the roof of a home while battling a fire in Southeast D.C. overnight.
The two-alarm fire broke out in the 3700 Block of Suitland Road SE around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.
The DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) shared in a post on X that the working fire had engulfed the back porch of a single-story home.
Once on the scene, firefighters discovered that the flames had spread into the house and onto the roof.
