PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — An altercation at the Capitol Heights Metro station turned violent on Wednesday evening.
Officers with the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) responded to the station at around 6:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.
According to reports, an altercation began between multiple people outside of the station and continued down the escalator. During the incident, a 20-year-old woman shot herself in the hand.

No other injuries were reported, MTPD noted.
Officers also found multiple shell casings in the bus bay and nearby woods.
Two people were detained and trains are bypassing the station as police investigate.
