A new halal eatery is set to take over the former Jerry’s Subs & Pizza location in Downtown Silver Spring, bringing a fast-growing international brand to the space.
Shah’s Halal has signed on for 8517 Colesville Road, the longtime home of Jerry’s Subs & Pizza, which permanently closed its final Montgomery County location in January 2025. In addition to the Shah’s website, recently installed “coming soon” signage, first reported by Source of the Spring, confirms the new tenant. An opening timeline has not yet been announced.
Founded in 2005 as a single food cart in Richmond Hill, Queens, Shah’s Halal has expanded into a global, family-owned brand with more than 130 locations.
