UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Harry Lindsey testified at his own murder trial Thursday, telling prosecutors that he shot and killed his long-term girlfriend, Sharita Cristwell, in a fit of rage.
Lindsey is accused of murdering Cristwell, his girlfriend of 11 years and mother of his children, on July 5, 2025. Though Lindsey admits to shooting Cristwell twice, prosecutors are trying to prove that the act was premeditated. On the stand Thursday, Lindsey claimed he didn’t realize what he had done until after he shot her.
According to Lindsey’s account of events, Cristwell began hitting him in the head while he was sitting on the couch. She had brought a bag that had the gun inside, he claimed. Lindsey alleged he thought Cristwell was reaching for the gun, and that’s when he grabbed it and shot her twice…
