BETHESDA, Md. (7News) — The co-owner of a Bethesda restaurant and bakery says a scammer stole nearly $25,000 from her business. She spoke with 7News On Your Side in hopes of preventing it from happening to anyone else.
Susan Limb of Praline Bakery and Bistro said she received a call on April 16 from a man claiming to be from her bank. The man said that someone was about to make several transfers, removing money from her account.
“I was like, ‘I did not authorize them,’” Limb said. “And he’s like ‘okay, we need to take care of this now, otherwise the funds are going to be removed’ and all that stuff. And I was like, I can’t have that happen. I’ve got payday tomorrow.”…
