History reminds us that moments of challenge often shape the course of our nation’s future. Lessons of the past resonate today as America navigates global instability and emerging threats. I was recently reading about the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Egypt and Syria, among many other countries, attacked Israel on the most holy day of the Hebrew calendar. Tragically, thousands of lives were lost, but in the end, peace prevailed between Egypt and Israel. This was the beginning of acceptance by the Arab world of Israel’s right to exist.
