Pirro ‘not surprised’ 13 MPD officials given termination papers amid crime stat probe

WASHINGTON (7News) — U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro said she was “not surprised” to learn that 13 high-ranking officials with the Metropolitan Police Department were handed termination papers amid an investigation into manipulated crime statistics.

The officials involved have not been fired at this point, and can appeal, but are currently on administrative leave as the process continues to play out. At least two of the top positions have already been replaced, according to internal documents obtained by 7News Investigative Reporter Scott Taylor.
