St. Mary’s County Resident, Former GRAMMY Manager & Gospel Publicist To Sing Mystics National Anthem

WASHINGTON – Multiple WAMMIE-Award Nominated Artist and Former GRAMMY Awards Manager, Andrea René, will be performing the National Anthem at the Washington Mystics home opener against the New York Liberty. The game, starting at 3PM ET on Mother’s Day, May 10th, will take place at the CareFirst Arena, located at 1100 Oak Drive in Southeast DC.

Andrea René is no stranger to the “Star Spangled Banner”. In addition to her previous performances for the Mystics, she has also sung the song for the Washington Wizards, the Georgetown Hoyas, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and at the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

A singer since the age of four and a pianist since the age of seven, Andrea René studied music at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, and Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, VA, before graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2019. She is Worship Leader and Minister of Music at Resurrection Parish. Under the leadership of Rector Rev.
