‘He was a great young man’ | Jackson-Reed senior remembered as community mourns fatal shooting weeks before graduation

WASHINGTON — Brady Flowers Jr., an 18-year-old senior at Jackson-Reed High School, was just weeks away from graduation when he was shot inside a Northwest Washington apartment building last week, leaving classmates, coaches and loved ones grieving the loss of a student remembered for his resilience and charisma.

Flowers was found shot Thursday around 4:30 p.m. inside an apartment building in the 4500 block of Wisconsin Avenue Northwest in the Tenleytown neighborhood, according to D.C. police. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died the following day.
