‘Couldn’t eat for Easter’: Palm Beach County woman says SNAP benefits repeatedly stolen

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County woman says her family’s food assistance benefits are being stolen — sometimes before she can even use them — raising new concerns about how vulnerable SNAP cards may be to fraud.

The woman, who asked CBS12 News not to identify her, said she has received multiple replacement Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards from the Florida Department of Children and Families over the past several months. Each time, she said, the money was drained within days.

“I got all the food on the counter,” she said. “And when I get there, there’s nothing on my card.”…
