Wichita business prepares customers for change as new kratom classification begins July 1

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) — A statewide ban on kratom is among more than 120 new laws taking effect in Kansas this Wednesday. The governor signed the bill in April, and with July 1 now days away, at least one Wichita business has spent months preparing its customers for the change.

Bo Lewis, owner of Happy Teahouse in Wichita, said he has been informing customers about the ban and advising them on next steps.

“Right now, people hate uncertainty. So, people hate change but if they can just embrace the change and realize that this is happening regardless, whether you want it to or not, I think a lot of people will be alright,” Lewis said…
