WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – With an extreme-heat weather alert on tap this week, we’re expecting temperatures into the 90s throughout the Fourth of July holiday, and heat index values potentially even higher.
“There’s three levels of heat emergency,” Sedgwick County EMS district chief Ryan Kilby said. “There’s heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.”
