WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two years ago, Wichita firefighter Ty Voth died of cardiac arrest while battling a house fire near Haysville. Those who knew him remember him for his bravery, fun-loving spirit and commitment to service.
On Aug. 1, 2024, crews from Sedgwick County, Derby, McConnell, and the Wichita Fire Department were providing mutual aid for a structure fire near South Laura and East 95th streets, just east of the Kansas Turnpike.
The 27-year-old was redeploying hoses and preparing to mop up the area when he suddenly collapsed.

Paramedics at the scene immediately provided medical treatment, and he was transported to Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, where he died.
An autopsy later revealed that Voth died of “unspecified cardiac arrest while fighting a fire.”…
