Parents, volunteers and other adults who want to go into any of Goddard Unified School District 265’s buildings will have to adhere to new layers of security that will make accessing school properties a little more complicated for them — and more secure for the school system’s 6,300 students.
Goddard’s new visitor-management system will require a photo ID or previous registration. In addition, each adult’s name will be run through software purchased from Raptor Technologies every time that person visits a school.
Each adult will have his or her name checked against the National Sex Offender Public Website and the school district’s Student Information Center to make sure they have a legal right to visit the child they want to see.
