WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a stormy start to the day and we will see off-and-on showers and storms through midday before sunshine takes over this afternoon. High temperatures in the lower to middle 90s will feel like 100 degrees when you factor in the humidity.
The heat dome returns this weekend and will remain parked over the state for several days. We have issued a Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Saturday through Wednesday as temperatures top-out between 100 and 105 degrees. The good news is that the humidity will not be a concern so extreme feels like temperatures are unlikely.
The high-pressure ridge will begin to break down late next week, allowing high temperatures to fall back into the 90s and a few storms to return to the state. The better chances will begin across northwest Kansas on Wednesday and then move southeast into central Kansas on Thursday…
