City of Wichita opens cooling centers as Kansas faces extreme heat

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The City of Wichita is opening cooling centers across the city.

As Wichita deals with extreme heat, the city says it’s offering 14 different centers to stay cool between libraries, recreation centers, neighborhood resource centers and splash pads.

All centers will be free and open to the public…
