Wichita Public Schools seeks to fill BOE vacancy

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – There’s only one week left to apply if you’d like to be the next member of the Wichita Public Schools Board of Education.

The board has a vacancy for its at-large member position. It’s not a paid position, but district representatives said it’s important for people to apply.

The spot on the board opened earlier this month after the death of Melody McCray-Miller. She was the first African American woman to represent the county’s fourth district. She served on the school board but pulled back last year from her role on the school board due to health concerns…
