Skin Cancer Awareness Month highlights importance of screening and prevention

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the U.S., according to data from the American Cancer Society. With that, doctors say early detection starts with knowing what to look for and not waiting to get checked if something seems off.

Symptoms include new, changing or unusual spots on the skin, such as pearly bumps, scaly red patches or moles, or even bloody patches in the skin.
