WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A voice that helped shape country music and usher it into the 21st century will take the stage this year at the Kansas State Fair.
Jo Dee Messina, best known for “Heads Carolina, Tails California” and her cover of “Lesson in Leavin’,” will take the Kansas Star Casino Grandstand Stage on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Her second single, “You’re Not in Kansas Anymore,” starts with the lyric, “He said, ‘I grew up near Wichita in a Mayberry kind of town.’”
