You can feel the winds of change today! What a cooldown behind the front!
A few showers are possible over extreme Southeast Kansas before heading for the exit overnight as a batch of rain showers drifts into our northwest counties through early Wednesday morning.
Temperatures overnight will chill to the 40s and 50s. Clouds will dominate especially for areas of central and eastern Kansas.
Clouds will be tough to break completely on Wednesday. There will be some holes to briefly let the sun come through. Afternoon highs will be well below average in the 60s. We may be able to get to the lower 70s near the Oklahoma Panhandle late in the day.
Scattered rain showers and a few weak storms will move into western Kansas Wednesday night.
This wave will push east into Thursday as another batch of showers and weak storms comes out of eastern Colorado into our western counties Thursday evening.
I have hope this will bring some much-needed rainfall to the most drought-stricken areas, including those impacted by wildfires over the last week.
More hit or miss showers and a few rumbles will pass through Friday and Saturday, favoring more of our western and southern counties.
The instability increases with a bump near Southwest Kansas, the Oklahoma Panhandle and western Oklahoma on Friday.
Temperatures start to climb a few more degrees, putting us closer to average. Sunday and Monday do not look completely dry with more isolated showers and a few storms possible.
