WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The crew at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita has been getting ready for weeks.
Memorial Day is their biggest weekend of the year, and a lot goes into prepping the grounds. With more than 25,000 people buried on the grounds, there are around 16,000 graves to tend.
For Memorial Day weekend, they also put out dozens of flags to honor fallen veterans. Those flags have taken longer than usual to set up, according to general manager Mike Hansen. Even with the recent rain, the ground is still very hard.
