Tornado Warnings posted in Delaware, but damage appears minimal

The National Weather Service issued several Tornado Warnings throughout Delaware on Tuesday evening, but it appears the First State was spared from the worst of the damage.

The initial set of warnings were put up in the 6 p.m. hour for Northwestern New Castle County, including the Hockessin area, with the warnings later extended to most of the county north of the canal.

According to the National Weather Service, they were issued due to radar-indicated signatures that there was rotation that could have led to a tornado, but there were no sightings from that portion of the line…
