Southport police release surveillance video in search for suspects in pre-parade vandalism

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WWAY) — The Southport Police Department has released new surveillance video as investigators continue searching for two people believed to be connected to a series of vandalism incidents that occurred the day before the city’s Fourth of July Festival Parade.

According to police, the surveillance footage shows two individuals walking near the ABC store on North Howe Street around the time the vandalism is believed to have occurred.

Investigators say several chairs, tents and other personal items that had been placed along the parade route to reserve viewing spots were found with deep slash marks…
