SURF CITY, N.C. (WECT) – Ocean Fest received two awards from the Southeast Festivals and Events Association, the Pender County Tourism Development Authority announced Monday.
The Topsail Island festival won the 2026 Kaleidoscope Green Initiative Award and the Best Event Impact Support Award for its work with Wilmington Compost Company. The Southeast Festivals and Events Association notified Ocean Fest following its annual conference in February.
“Ocean Fest is honored to receive the national Green Initiative,” said Liz Trojoan, Ocean Fest director. “Ocean Fest’s goal is to have a successful community event while infusing eco education.”…
