CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – An 18-year-old is running a swimwear line with a mission to keep oceans clean.
Holden Bierman started Coastal Cool, a swimsuit brand that uses recycled plastics. Growing up in Carolina Beach, he says the coastline is a place he wants to keep clean for years to come.
“I think the way to pave success nowadays is one to inspire but also to do good,” said Bierman. “Connecting that with a mission and making some fun swimsuits along the way, that was the passion connected with the purpose,” he added.
From idea to business
He came up with the idea when he was 12 years old in middle school during the pandemic. He says he started the company with $500, a loan from his parents, which he paid back after the first week in business…
