Widow advocates for dental board reform after husband’s death during routine procedure

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A woman is pushing for change more than five years after her husband’s death following a routine dental procedure.

Shital Patel says she has been trying to pass a law surrounding sedation procedures at dental offices but claims she has been blocked by the state dental board at every turn. Now she is advocating for a new bill that would change the state dental board itself.
