Caitlin McCarthy’s ‘Little Audrey’ set for supernatural debut

WORCESTER — Worcester teacher, screenwriter and activist Caitlin McCarthy’s longtime dream of having one one of her screenplays become a fully produced feature film will be realized when the supernatural mystery “Little Audrey,” based on real-life events in Worcester, has its world premiere on the opening night of the prestigious Woods Hole Film Festival on Cape Cod on July 25.

The 35th edition of the festival is running July 25 to Aug. 1. “Little Audrey” is directed and produced by Michael Mailer with producers Jeff Thomas and John Buffalo Mailer, and features an all-star cast including Aidan Quinn (“Benny & June”), Emily VanCamp, Jennifer Esposito and Josh Bowman.

McCarthy, who teaches English at Worcester Technical High School, has won a number of screenplay writing awards for prospective movies on a variety of subjects, and seen projects almost come to fruition…
