MARLBOROUGH – Many residents deal with the Marlborough Police Department during some of their worst moments. Sometimes, people may only interact with officers when they’re in trouble, whether it’s a speeding ticket or a more serious offense.
On August 5, the Marlborough Police Department looked to change that. The department held its first-ever National Night Out at 1LT Charles W. Whitcomb School, giving locals an opportunity to see officers in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.
“We’re trying to create an environment where people interact with police in a positive setting,” Marlborough Police Chief David Giorgi told the Community Advocate. “This is a good community-building, camaraderie-building event, and we can build relationships in the community. We’re just like everybody else – we grew up here, we have family that lives here. We want everybody to feel like they’re part of the same community.”…
