DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) – A Daphne swim school that rebuilt after Hurricane Sally is now competing for a $55,000 business grant — and needs community votes to win.
Haley’s Little Fish, owned by Haley James, teaches swimming lessons to starting at 6 months old to adults. The business is one of several Mobile and Baldwin County small businesses competing in Grayson Air Conditioning’s “Project Boss” social media giveaway, which awards the money to the business that earns the most likes.
From hurricane damage to a storage unit pool
James’ business was operating out of the Eastern Shore Aquatic Center when Hurricane Sally destroyed the facility in September 2020.
“Until I drove up and I saw the building was gone — you don’t realize how bad it is until you are actually here and you see it,” James said at the time…
