ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man has been charged with threatening an FBI special agent over the phone.
Teens charged in deadly Albuquerque road rage shooting remain in custody
On July 14, 2026, Alejandro Moya, 36, contacted the FBI Albuquerque Field Office requesting that his guns that had been seized during a 2020 federal search warrant be returned to him.
Later that day, an FBI special agent called Moya, and during the call, Moya allegedly threatened the agent, saying that he would kill the agent. Moya allegedly challenged the agent to meet him at a home in Albuquerque for a confrontation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico.
Moya is charged with interstate threatening communications. Following his initial court appearance, Moya was released on his own recognizance and is expected to appear in court on July 20 for a combined preliminary and detention hearing.
