A Newark man who told investigators he works as an elementary school security guard has been arrested following an investigation into the attempted luring of a person he believed to be a 13-year-old child for sexual activity, North Bergen Police Chief Robert J. Farley Jr. announced.
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, officers from the North Bergen Police Department arrested Jeffrey B. Sanders of Newark. According to police, at approximately 11:05 p.m., officers responded to a residential complex after receiving a report of an individual who had arrived to meet a juvenile.
The arrest followed a sting by Predator Poachers, a private group that confronted Sanders on camera after one of its decoys posed as a 13-year-old girl online. Video of the confrontation was later shared publicly on social media.
